Important Notice:

Beware of Fraudulent Websites Using Qwerry's Branding

January 2, 2025

Introduction (What’s Happening):

At Qwerry, we are committed to maintaining the trust and security of our clients. Recently, we discovered a fraudulent website impersonating our brand to deceive people and collect unauthorized payments. Please rest assured that we are actively working to address this situation and safeguard our legitimate clients.

What You Need to Know:

Our Official Website:

Our legitimate website is qwerrybrands.com. Any other website claiming to represent Qwerry is fraudulent.

How to Identify Fraudulent Sites:

  1. They use our name and logo and have impersonated our site, but do not use our secure domain (qwerrybrands.com).

  2. The fraudulent sites may request payments or personal information that we would never ask for online.

  3. Based on reports we have received, one version of this scam involves approaching people through Facebook, moving the interaction to WhatsApp, then directing victims to the sites below to further defraud them via a bitcoin or marketing scheme. One potential victim reported that the contact claimed to be in New York, however the victim was able to obtain the fraudster’s IP address and location, which was Mae Sot, Tak, Thailand.

  4. Below are fraudulent websites currently using our branding or have fully impersonated our site. There may be others that we have not yet discovered. Please avoid interacting with these sites and report any suspicious activity to us:

    • qwerry-brands[dot]com [Domain provider has imposed a client hold]

    • qwerry-brands-ppc[dot]com [Domain provider has mposed a client hold]

    • qwerry-brands-data[dot]com [Domain provider has imposed a client hold]

    • qwerry-seo[dot]com [Reported, awaiting action from Domain provider]

  5. These WhatsApp contact details have been reported to us as part of this scheme by potential victims, or are visible on the fraudulent sites. We have made reports to WhatsApp. Please do not interact with these contacts and please report them in WhatsApp:

    • Ariana L, +1 (903) 651-3618 (WhatsApp)

    • Anna B, +1 (646) 382-8293 (WhatsApp)

    • +1 (646) 382-8880 (WhatsApp)

    • +1 (213) 492-3566 (WhatsApp)

Immediate Actions You Can Take:

  1. Do not provide any personal or payment information to these fraudulent websites.

  2. Report suspicious activity directly to us via email at info@qwerrybrands.com

  3. If you suspect fraud or have been a victim, notify your financial institution immediately.

  4. If you are contacted in WhatsApp, please report it. It’s a very simple 2-click process: click on the person’s contact info and scroll to the bottom. You will see an option to “Report [name].” That’s it. It will share the last 5 messages with WhatsApps.

Steps Qwerry Is Taking:

  • We have reported the fraudulent websites to their hosting provider to have the fraudulent sites taken down.

  • The abuse is potentially part of a widespread internet scheme. The hosting provider is DNSPod, belonging to Aceville Pte Ltd. and part of a Chinese conglomerate Tencent. ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) issued a breach notice to Aceville Pte Ltd. on September 20, 2024 for failure to comply with Section 3.18.2 of its RAA concerning Domain Name System Abuse mitigation.

  • On January 17, 2025, we received notification from Tencent that it has imposed a client hold on three of the sites and as of January 17, 2025, they are no longer live. We were recently made aware of a fourth domain and have reported this to Tencent as well.

  • We have provided information about these cases and the unresponsiveness of DNSPod’s abuse department to ICANN.

  • We have submitted complaints to Google and Bing with the aim of flagging these fraudulent sites as unsafe.

  • We have reported these abuses to the Federal Trade Commission and the Internet Crime Compliant Center (IC3).

  • We have also notified Scam Detector (https://www.scam-detector.com), a fraud prevention resource, of the scams. They have flagged the fraudulent sites as unsafe and validated that Qwerry’s legitimate website is safe and secure and assigned it a perfect score of 100/100.

  • Finally, we have reported these fraudulent contacts in WhatsApp.

How to Verify You’re Dealing with Qwerry:

  • Check the domain in your browser’s address bar: qwerrybrands.com is the only official website for Qwerry.

  • You can contact us directly via email (info@qwerrybrands.com) if you have any doubts or if you have information you believe will help us in reporting these abuses to authorities.
